Discord does not work with Zapret

Updated Zapret but Discord still fails? Typical: DPI bypass tools break on every blocking change, and Discord voice runs over UDP, which such tools barely cover. Here is what to do right now.

    Website and app
    Auto-updated subscription
    Setup support
    Service access

    Open Discord through VPN

Connect WersidePN, then open the app or website. The subscription works on phone and desktop.

    Current WersidePN connection setup

    What we issue now

The WersidePN subscription URL provides current connection settings without manual setup.

    Recommended app

For iPhone and Android we currently recommend Happ. V2RayTun remains in older guides as a legacy option only.

    If something fails

Refresh the subscription in the app first, then reconnect and test another network.

    Why Zapret stops working

Zapret and similar tools (GoodbyeDPI, ByeDPI) trick DPI filters rather than encrypt traffic — when filtering rules change, the bypass breaks until the tool updates

voice traffic and UDP are barely covered by such tools — calls and games fail first

it works only on the device where it runs — your phone and TV stay unprotected

VPN solves it differently: traffic is encrypted and routed abroad entirely, DPI rules do not affect it

What to do when the bypass breaks

    1

Check your tool for updates — after blocking changes the authors usually ship new strategies within days.

    2

If you cannot wait, test the service through VPN: activate the WersidePN trial (3 days free) and compare.

    3

Connect the Germany or Latvia profile and test exactly what broke: voice, video, the game.

    4

Then decide by facts: a DPI bypass tool and a VPN coexist fine — one for websites, the other for voice, games and mobile devices.

How to open Discord through VPN

    Turn VPN on first

Close the target app, connect WersidePN and open the service again. This helps clear old sessions, cached region and direct connection attempts.

    If media or calls fail

Video, calls and embedded browsers can use separate network routes. Refresh the subscription, restart the app and test another network.

    Website and app can differ

For some services the web version opens while the mobile app still shows an error. Check both before changing client settings.

    Quick checklist before connecting

Open Discord only after VPN is connected and the app shows an active profile.

If only calls or video fail, restart the target app, not just the VPN client.

Check the web version and mobile app separately: they can use different network checks.

If one network fails, try Wi-Fi, mobile data or another SIM card.

If the service was open before VPN, close it fully so it does not keep an old direct session.

Do not combine private DNS, another VPN and system proxy unless needed.

    Service access

    Useful next steps

    Common questions

How is VPN different from Zapret/GoodbyeDPI?

Bypass tools locally trick the DPI filter without encrypting traffic — free, but they break on every blocking change and do not cover UDP/voice. VPN encrypts all traffic and does not depend on DPI rules, but costs money. Different tools.

Why do voice calls fail even with Zapret?

Voice runs over UDP, while most DPI bypass tools only handle TCP/TLS traffic. Voice channels recover more reliably through a VPN tunnel.

Can I run Zapret and VPN together?

Yes, but not on the same traffic: either disable the bypass while VPN is on, or set up split routing. Otherwise expect conflicts and odd errors.
