VPN does not work on PC: quick checklist

On a computer, VPN can fail because of an outdated client, another VPN, DNS, firewall or provider network. Start with a short diagnosis instead of reinstalling the system.

    Current WersidePN connection setup

    What we issue now

The WersidePN subscription URL provides current connection settings without manual setup.

    Recommended app

For iPhone and Android we currently recommend Happ. V2RayTun remains in older guides as a legacy option only.

    If something fails

Refresh the subscription in the app first, then reconnect and test another network.

    How it works

Traffic is encrypted and routed through a VPN path. Websites and apps see the WersidePN connection instead of your regular provider route.

    Common causes

another VPN, proxy or corporate filter is enabled

the client did not refresh the subscription profile after renewal or network change

Windows Firewall, antivirus or Private Relay conflicts with the tunnel

VPN fails on one network but works on another

    What to check

    1

Close other VPN apps, proxies, browser extensions and corporate clients.

    2

Refresh the subscription profile in Happ, v2rayN or another client.

    3

Restart the app normally, then check firewall permissions.

    4

Compare Wi-Fi and mobile hotspot: if one works, the issue is likely the route of the other network.

    5

If the current client fails, try the same link in another compatible client.

How to understand where the connection fails

    Does the subscription refresh?

If the server list does not refresh, the issue can be before the VPN server: the network blocks the subscription URL, the app cannot open it or the profile is old.

VPN connects but sites do not load?

That is a different case: the tunnel may be up while DNS, route or a specific ISP still interferes with traffic. Test a website, Telegram and YouTube separately.

    Does the error appear instantly?

Immediate timeout, TLS error or import marks often point to the app, network or blocked profile refresh method rather than the plan itself.

    Quick checklist before connecting

Split the issue into two steps: whether the subscription refreshes and whether VPN connects.

If the subscription does not refresh, check link access, network, device date and app version.

If VPN connects but sites do not open, check DNS, another network and specific services separately.

If the issue happens only on mobile data, filtering can be on the operator side, not in the app.

If Wi-Fi works, keep the working profile and contact support with the mobile operator name.

Do not delete the account or payment: usually the profile or connection method needs updating.

    Common questions

VPN works on phone but not on PC. Is it the server?

Probably not. If the phone connects, the cause is more often the PC client, firewall, DNS or local network.

Do I need a new key for the computer?

Usually no. Use the same WersidePN subscription link and refresh the profile in the app.

Why does the browser still open sites directly?

Check that the client uses system tunnel or proxy mode and that the browser has no separate extension bypassing system settings.
